Well I thought it was time for me to put some zip back into Jake's Showcase. It's been a while since I've had a comedy video out and while my recent videos have been interesting, informative and entertaining there's a certain ho hum ness about videos on Walnuts and Math. Of course I like those videos but one of the crux's of my channel has been a bit of an edge and with this comedy video I bring this back.
I've done several mock commercial style videos in the past and the thing I like about this one is it uses the fascination with cellphones.
It's true, what will those smart phones do next? Why not bring it to the extreme, that's what the iGod does.
I think here the main point is a change again in vibe of the channel. I like that I readily and easily change on a dime with my material. While a good consistent theme or style is how channels build an audience who like that kind of material and my percentage of subscribers my be quite low for my overall video view volume I like that I'm sort of the opposite. Unpredictable. Entertainment that's unpredictable, it's my niche.
The special type of person and fan will appreciate it. A bit here, a bit there, the sort of off beat crowd, the rebels, the misfits. Hey, guess what, it's different, I'm different and I like it.
True, being different may mean not mainstream, where every video is a workout video and that person becomes the workout guru, or every video is funny and that person becomes a comedian, ect. My brand is all encompassing. I like to think of Jake's Showcase as a channel of life.
