This morning on Jake's Showcase http://youtube.com/JakesShowcase my video "Cowboy Life" http://youtu.be/b1GDQmEW4dw currently at 160 Views 17 Likes 0 Dislikes. Interesting no dislike thus far.
I have to say this video has outperformed my expectations thus far. I went to bed last night at 9:30pm and the video was at 96 views and arising at 6:30am it's at 160 another good start well on it's way to a weekly surpassing of 301 again.
But what is it about his video that is capturing attention? I guess it's a short clip only just over 2 minutes and the single shot footage allows maybe a sense of realness to come through even including the not quite perfect camera angle not fully showing the hat. Possibly I'm just attracting a much more solid initial fan base that tunes in on Wednesdays.
Just after midnight 20 views in the first hour a record for me, then 95 by 9:30pm the next evening, then 160 by the following morning. This video is sort of just a typical rant and I'm surprised it's done this well right away.
Behind the scenes numbers have been doing well too. Each day I really track how well my videos are doing by my adsense numbers which give a rough estimate of how many views are actually coming in. While I do not understand what the correlate of adsense viewership and actual views are and they relation does seem to change frequently in general I know if I get about 300 adsense views in a day that means that the views did well and if under 300 that means the views did not that great.
The past week there was only one day below 300 and the past two days well over 400 each day. Therefore I know proportionately the channel is doing quite well and much better then the recent past. The views come in and post a couple of days later but that's how I keep tabs on it and decide if I need to do more social media activities or not throughout the day.
Normally with a 160 view video within a day and a bit I'd leave it now however this morning the channel's off to a poor start therefore I write. See that's how I do it, always checking the behind the scenes numbers.
Have A Wonderful Day or Night Fans,
