I have the day off today and it's interesting how this morning I am finding it challenging to make the energy to make a video.
Friday off but working the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. The strange thing about retail or production type jobs of almost any sort is that the classic Mon-Friday with two days off is out the window. It's completely random and I think that two consecutive days off in a row is important to recharge the batteries.
This video here as you can see is really doing poorly compared to where it should be at on a Friday morning to surpass 301 views on a weekly basis which is where I'm minimally satisfied.
A couple days ago I wrote of how surpassing 1500 subscribers over 1000 subscribers would give all the videos on my channel a boost in search rankings raising their view count. Well shows how much I know.
There's two video searches I check on a daily basis to see where my videos rank. One is "How to quit drinking alcohol" where I have several on this topic and the other is "how to make coffee" where I have one short sweet video "How to make coffee" http://youtu.be/CEPLSd5vudo 6474 Views 56 Likes 2 Dislikes that I feel is representative. I often check "James Dean" as well.
Since surpassing 1500 subscribers my video have actually fallen in search rankings not raised and my channel overall has been struggling. Could be the headliner, search rankings or both but it's down.
So, while I am a striving YouTube artist and attempting to learn the trick of the trade and how things work and implement the ways to get the best performance I can I know little of how YouTube works.
In a way, that's probably a good thing. It makes my eventual success that much more real.
