Tonight on Jake's Showcase http://youtube.com/JakesShowcase I have just released "Jake Johnston - "I Just Met You Today"" https://youtu.be/MUK7g71PyVA currently at 1 View 1 Like 0 Dislikes. It was single shot done on the 9th take I believe...with spotlight and overhead lighting.
It was strange I had a whole different set of chords that I had done my other 8 run throughs with and then I just got this inspiration to change the chords and took on last take with the different chords and pace and it was the best. I continue to like my music theme and hope that one of these songs would really take off. Thusfar I have 3 songs with over 600 views but what I think my best Morning oh Morning https://youtu.be/JKdjrdvps2Q 372 Views 13 Likes 4 Dislikes was not that well received.
You know it's interesting when you really dive into the history of successful musicians and you ask them what is your best or favorite of your songs often the song that they like the most is not the song that elevates them to fame. Often times the song that makes them famous or that they become rich through is a "so-so" song according to the music artist. What the world takes to and launches off of and ultimately is willing to pay for grabs them in an unforeseen way. For example Eminems "Loose Yourself" was very quickly written an hour or so before the recoding for the 8 mile movie was to be made on his way to the studio with very little foresight that it would be a hit. There's hundreds of examples but I'd bet that the majority if not all musicians got famous and rich on songs that they didn't think would be that big a deal. In many ways my three songs that are over 600 views thus far have outperformed my expectations thus far.
Wouldn't it be great to be contacted by a large recording studio and they want me to record it and get a song of mine on the radio. Keep rhyming and writing Jakie, just keep rhyming and writing.
