"Jake Johnston - "Marilyn Monroe and James Dean" Love Song" Released

Tonight on Jake's Showcase http://youtube.com/JakesShowcase I have just released "Jake Johnston - "Marilyn Monroe and James Dean" Love Song" http://youtu.be/Qyg1ll2ZW0w currently 3 Views 2 Likes 0 Dislikes. It was a single shot video with spotlight overhead and natural lighting.
I actually shot this song in video format about 12 or 15 times. Full song versions too. I found this last take on the first day of shooting to be the best. I did it over about three days always trying to improve either the voice, the pace or something.
The actual full song was 7 and a half minutes long but when listening I thought that the verses were too long and didn't keep even my attention for that long and decided to shorten it. Each verse was shortened by 4 lines for a total of 12 lines cut. I think that this song really does get the basic message through without the additional lines.
I like it. I think the song has a real nice romantic pace and words that is easy to listen too, it sets the mood just right.
I've really been trying to hear what makes songs work in the modern era by listening hear and there on the radio at the places that I frequent. Listen to the course, listen to the verse, to the voices just feel it...what is it about those songs.
The wonderful thing about music is that while it may not be YouTube search sensitive which leads to ongoing views as time goes on, because music is magic, the opportunity  to really take off is always right there.
Have a Wonderful Day or Night Fans,
Jake Johnston jakesshowcase@gmail.com
