This video is more of a classic youtube artist video. The shot cuts, the stationary scenery, it's the typical formula that works. The only twist here is that I use this scenery to tell a story in a step by step fashion which actually happened in my life. True the story is seasonally timely with valentines day being 10 days away so it works that way and I think while the story is a bit long, it is interesting enough to hold the viewers attention throughout the video.
What...someone doesn't like Valentines day....well actually I'm sure I'm not the only with a not so lovely valentines story and I'm sure it will ring true to others.
Even for those who love valentines day I think they will find it interesting and entertaining as well.
It's been a while since I've done one of this story type videos of my life experiences and I have to say I do like the format because it's relatively easy....no acting...rather simple editing...it's not physically exerting either like workout videos for example.
Keep mixing it up....keep it sort of counter culture...keep it interesting....really keep just being me...that's the Jake's Showcase way.
Identifiable, relatable, quick yet long, I think this video is a winner.
